Sports Report - U15 Girls Cricket

Today I took the girls u15 cricket team to Taunton Deane. We played Kingsmead in the first game and bowling first we were hit by two very strong girls who struck the ball brutally for plenty of boundaries. M Austin bowled very well, as did Katie Harris and G Lowe. O Fursland took a great catch of J Granter's bowling also.

In reply K Harris smashed everything that came to her including two sixes and two fours before retiring. G Lowe hit a big six and M Rawle bludgeoned some fours, before we fell 20 runs short after two tight overs.

In the final game we played Castle who had beaten Kingsmead previously. Castle batted first and again batted with great aggression against some timid bowling at points. All the girls bowled well and K Harris took a great catch on the boundary, with exemplary netball footwork!

When batting O Fursland smashed 15 and K Harris hit a good 15 not out as well before the girls fell 18 short.

Player of the matches was definitely K Harris who has found a love for cricket, she enjoys smashing the ball!

The girls were a pleasure to take, they improved greatly and they are incredibly excited to play hardball on Friday at Queens.
