Sports Report - Year 10 Boys Football
Yesterday afternoon the Year 10 boys hosted Blake in a match to decide who would play Haygrove in the final after Easter. With the more focused and ready for action they started well as T Luke and C Frost looked to use their pace to get in behind the opposition defence. In midfield R Henderson, L LeMaitre and J Salter dominated whilst F Henderson and A Sampson gave Chilton the pace on the wings they needed. With the boys working hard they soon took the lead as C Frost took was on hand to finish well after good work from F Henderson and J Salter. With the defence of H Huett, A Francis and H Morgan winning tackles and clearing their lines effectively goalkeeper J Legg was a passenger for the whole first half. Shortly before half-time Chilton doubled their lead as C Frost used his pace to break past the Blake defence and finish neatly to give the team a 2-0 lead at the break.
The second half became more even as Blake showed good spirit and determination however H Huett, A Francis and H Morgan showed good organisation and resilience at all times. The introduction of B Byles on the right wing gave Chilton some new energy and a flowing move involving himself and L LeMaitre saw C Frost complete his hat-trick. Subs L Stockham and W Andrews came on and helped the lads see the game out comfortably with J legg having no difficult saves to make.
This result gives the boys a chance to gain revenge over Haygrove in the final after Easter. Man of the match went to Cam Frost for an excellent performance as a striker.
