Sports Report - Year 10 Boys Football
The Year 10 Boys Football squad travelled to BCA this evening and came away with a convincing 5-0 victory. Chilton dominated possession early on but could not get the early goal their endeavour deserved. A fine move involving W Andrews, A Sampson and R Henderson saw B Cooper give Chilton the lead as he finished well from a tight angle. This gave the boys the confidence they needed and they took control of the game as L Lemaitre released B Cooper who slotted home to make it 2-0. The lead could have been more but A Attwood and C Frost missed chances to score from crosses well delivered by J Salter. C Frost did score next though as he reacted well in the box to fire home a well struck right foot shot. Just before half-time B Cooper completed his hat-trick as he raced away from the defence to comfortably beat the keeper.
The second half saw Chilton continue to dominate as the back four of L Stockham, A Attwood, A Francis and H Huett allowed keeper J Legg only one touch throughout the whole game. In midfield J Salter and R Henderson worked hard to retain possession and set up numerous attacks from deep. With the boys keeping possession well B Cooper had numerous chances to add his tally however he was denied by some good saves from the BCA keeper and some last ditch defending. After good work by L Lemaitre, W Andrews produced a nice pass to feed B Cooper who slotted home from the edge of the box to make it 5-0. To their credit BCA never gave up and kept Chilton at bay to the final whistle.
In a fine team effort H Huett and A Sampson impressed in the full back areas whilst J Salter gained the man of the match award for a fine all-round performance in midfield.
