Sports Report - Year 10 Football
Last night the year 10 boys football team travelled to BCA.
Chilton dominated the play from the start, playing some lovely football on a terrific surface. Some speculative long range shots meant the only thing missing was a goal for all of the dominance. Eventually it came as Olly Manchip drove forward and hit a rocket in the bottom corner that gave the goalkeeper no chance. Travis Knapp made a good save in BCA’s only attack of note in the first half.
The second half became a scrappier affair as BCA went long in all of their attacks which meant the passing game of Chilton suffered as a consequence. The defence coped admirably well led by Lewis Jennings and Nathan Howes. A second goal was needed however to be comfortable in the game. Lots of long range shots were saved by the goalkeeper but eventually Olly Manchip had a shot from distance which squeezed under the goalkeeper to double the lead. A long ball over the top was not dealt with and their striker made it 2-1 before Tristan Onslow produced a good cross and surprisingly Jack Francis leapt highest and headed home to make it 3-1.
This was a great result and a great team victory. Player of the match could go to any number of players but Cameron Richardson was outstanding in his positioning, touch and link up play in central midfield. The win now leaves the team very close to qualifying for the Sedgemoor final.
