Sports Report - Year 11 Boys Rugby
The Year 11 boys began their league season with a good win against a powerful King Alfred's side. With Chilton holding their own in the scrum and dominating the lineout they had plenty of the ball to run with. Chilton were soon on the move as try's from L Lemaitre and H Huett set them on their way. With L Stockham controlling the play the ball was moved out wide frequently causing KAS lots of defensive problems. Two further scores from B Cooper and C Brunskill pulled Chilton clear and showed that they can play some good rugby. Just before half-time L Lemaitre broke away from a scrum and showed good power to crash over the line. At half-time Chilton led 29-0.
The 2nd half was a more even affair as Chilton's handling under pressure broke down as numerous chances were squandered. KAS hit back and scored two quickfire try's but Chilton responded instantly as C Brunskill ran over the KAS defence to score under the posts. R Mears gave Chilton quick ball and a fine pass saw H Hodge steam onto the ball to power over the line to make the final score 41-12 to Chilton.
Man of the match went to H Huett who was brilliant in defence and attack.
