Sports Report - Year 7 Boys Rugby
The boys travelled to King Alfred's to take on BCA, Blake and King Alfred's in a round-robin competition looking to play some more good rugby.
The first game against KAS saw Chilton run out 5-2 winners as E Ukochu gave Chilton an early lead before KAS hit back to level at 2-2. L Etieno showed good power to score from close range before E Ukochu ran in two further trys to take his tally to 4. J Proctor, J Hurd and N Wall impressed with their tackling and running with the ball.
The second game against Blake proved a tight affair as both teams looked to move the ball wide and run with the ball. Chilton took the lead through E Ukochu but Blake soon levelled. F Richards picked the ball up at the ruck and dived over to give the boys the lead before Blake hit back to level once again. Chilton should have took the lead however poor handling and sloppy passing denied them time and again. Chilton were not to be denied as E Spencer powered over in the corner to give the boys the lead. Despite late Blake pressure N Wall and T James pushed a Blake over the side line to seal victory.
The last game was another close encounter against BCA who took an early lead as they came out the blocks fast. Both teams had powerful runners and from a ruck C Patrick raced down the wing to score a fine individual try. With time running out J Hurd made another run and the ball was passed wide for C Evans to score the winning try with only seconds remaining.
In another great evening of Rugby J Proctor, C Patrick, H Mills, O Jones and E Locke showed great tackling skills whilst E Ukochu, N Wall, F Richards and E Spencer ran well with ball in hand.
