Sports Report - Year 7 Boys Rugby Sedgemoor Finals
Last night saw the year 7 boys play the last round of their games under the lights at North Petherton RFC.
First up the boys played Haygrove and it was a game to forget as Haygrove dominated from start to finish.
The boys were bitterly disappointed in their performance but had time to sort it out as Brymore played Haygrove in the next match. The boys practised their breakdowns and upped their intensity somewhat.
The second game saw Chilton dominate from start to finish. Evan Ukachu scored early, dancing through several tackles. All of the boys were much more up for the battle here, getting to the breakdowns and competing for the ball. Evan scored once more as several phases saw him take the ball and run into the vacant space on the far side of the pitch. Brymore had more intent in the second half and deservedly went over the line after some early pressure. However this did not stop Chilton and they continued to move the ball nicely, in wet and boggy conditions. Chilton spent lots of time around Brymore’s try line, lots of phases followed but some resolute defending meant they were often denied. Eventually though Evan scored his third try of the game as he sped off and away from the chasing pack and sealed a fine win 3-1.
The boys can be very proud of their efforts this year, losing only one game all season.
