Sports Report - Year 9 girls football
Last night the girls took on Haygrove with a depleted squad due to a mixture of illness, Legally Blonde rehearsals and a hockey fixture but still represented the school admirably.
In a very even game Haygrove took the lead just before half time when a lapse in concentration meant a Haygrove striker was unmarked and fired through Ava Scobie’s legs.
In the second half Chilton worked incredibly hard with the bare 7 as they did everything they could to level the game but just could not score. Haygrove scored a second as Chilton piled forward ending the game 2-0. Not a particularly fair reflection of the game but putting the ball in the back of the net wins games and the girls learned the hard way.
Player of the match goes to Ewelina who did not stop running all game and was superb.
