Sports Report - Yr 8 girls hockey

A fantastic evening of hockey for CHilton's yr 8 girls A & B teams and their 1st matches of the season, saw all girls playing with great effort and lots of skill in their games v Haygrove A ,Hay  B, KAS A, KAS B.  CTS A played Hay A first and completely overwhelmed them scoring 4 fantastic goals. (Lauren H, Alice P, Morgan E, Jazz F)  Alice worked extremely hard dribbling the ball into space, making timely crosses and tackling hard. Loads followed her example - Alisha using her skilful stickwork to make clever passes into attack, Lauren chasing the ball down in the attacking circle, Charlotte H, calmly passing the ball wide from defence, Tiff using her energy to move the ball forward and chase back to defend the goal, Morgan using her strong passes and clever rollout move to exploit the space and Jazz strong in both attack and defence.  Awesome!

The CTS B team saw a fantastic pass from Charlotte L the length of the pitch picked up and deflected beautifully into goal by Katie D to bring the team level 1-1.

In a mixed A/b game v Hay b CTS were too strong for Hay and despite lots of changes of position all worked hard to keep the ball in the hay defending end. Goals from Morgan E and Lauren H came after strong tackling and clever passes to keep possession before penetrating the circle. 2-0 win .

CTS A then played KASA and came out with a 3-3 draw typical of their determined never give up attitude.the CTS B girls also had a close game against the KAS B squad. Here they adapted, used more space and Katie D as attacker fed by Angelina popped a goal away.

In the final game Hay A played CTS B and despite being tired the girls fought hard. Jess and Angelina, Jenny and Amy had a great game, linking well but those tired legs left defenders Megan and Charlotte isolated and Hay managed to pop a couple of goals away.

A great evening with a great group of girls showing huge potential to go far. :-)
