Sports Report - Yr11/10 boys hockey

Last night the yr 10/11 boys lined up for their last league matches of the year.   Potentially the last matches 'ever' for some yr 11 boys who have played in the team since yr7..Co capt George Hale donned the keeper kit once more and  Co capt Rowan James marshalled the team helping debutants Darryl Barr, Kian Gaffney, Slyvian Vessier and James Diment find their feet. The first game v Brymore  was keenly contested. The previous meetings have been close affairs. With Ash Francis as midfield Dynamo the Brymore boys didn't know what had hit them . CHilton worked hard and their strength in the tackle and superior passing outweighed the Brymore enthusiasm.  George had little to do but cleared his lines well as the Chilton forwards scored 3 in fine fashion. Luke Otley, Jacob H Finch strong in midfield.

The second game v Haygrove would be tougher. Chilton were missing long standing player Toby Knight and Will Stokes but the effort and teamwork seen by the Chilton boys was fantastic. Peter brind , Rowan and James had a difficult job to contain the lively Haygrove forwards but crucial tackles and good blocks in goal thwarted Haygrove for the first half of the game. Hassan Miah, Freddie Brickell  made important attacking moves but Haygrove's superior stick skill and speed and some amazing shooting from penalty corners started to tell. Final score Haygrove 4/5  Chilton 0.  A tough score line that doesn't tell the story of the journey these boys have made from yr7 and the great team spirit shown.  Well done all. A proud Mrs Hedaux!
