Year 7 Boys Rugby
This evening the Year 7 boys took part in their first ever Rugby tournament @ Haygrove and showed that they are a talented squad. Having had 30 plus students attending practice picking 16 players proved a difficult task. The 16 selected did the school proud showing a great attitude and listening to instructions throughout.
In the first game against Brymore they ran out narrow winners 2-0 as they showed off their excellent tackling skills. In a good all-round performance Riley Sanders was named player of the game.
The second game against Haygrove saw them fall behind straight away only to hit back through the pace of Evan Ekachu. The boys gained confidence and ran in further trys in an impressive display as they ran out 4-1 winners. Evan Ekachu was named player of the game for his impressive pace.
The last game against Blake proved a close affair as Blake's superb handling skills caused the Chilton defence lots of problems. However the power of the boys running saw them run out 2-0 winners in a tough contest. Joe Proctor was named player of the game for his superb tackling.
The whole squad performed brilliantly with Elijah Spencer, Finn Russell, Riley Sanders, Noah Wall and Evan Ekachu all scoring trys. The defence based around strong tackling from Joe Proctor, Ethan Locke, Connor Evans and Levi Otieno stood firm.
The boys can look forward to future tournaments knowing there is lots of room for improvement and that they have a strong base to build from.
