Year 7 Rugby
Tonight the year 7 rugby boys took part in the latest rugby tournament against the local schools.
First up Chilton entertained Blake and Chilton donated two replacements to even up the sides. Chilton made all the early running but Blake stood firm before a great move meant Junior Hooper found space to go over for the first try of the evening. Chilton exerted more pressure but handling errors cost them possession on a few occasions before Blake went over the line to make it a try apiece. Chilton had one last opportunity to win it but the ball was dropped centre metres from the ground. 1-1.
In the second game Chilton played King Alfreds School. A fast start was needed and this is exactly what they got as Evan Ukachu danced through 8 KAS players to score a superb try. There were also tries from Junior Hooper, Noah Wall, Harry Mills, Connor Evans as Chilton won 5-1. Lots of exciting rugby was played here, some superb offloads led to some wonderful tries.
In the last game Chilton played BCA and some hard tackling from BCA meant Chilton found it difficult to gain much ground. Eventually Evan Ukachu scored before Junior Hooper scored once more on the wing. A consolation try for BCA meant that the score finished 2-1 to Chilton.
Another superb effort from the lads as they continue to play superb rugby. Plenty are now looking to play for Bridgwater and Albion outside of school which is great to see. Please congratulate them if you teach them or see them around, they are a talented bunch.
