Introduction
GRAPHIC PRODUCTS gives the students the opportunity to experience and understand the importance of graphics in relation to design. It is all about the presentation of ideas to other people.
Qualifications available: GCSE
Course content
The student will learn through the use of technical drawing systems such as orthographic projection, circuit diagrams and technical illustrations. They will also use pictorial and presentation techniques including pencil rendering, felt tip rendering and shading techniques.
As well as drawing techniques they will use technical construction which would include the development of flat packs, plans for a loft extension, modelling of products such as a personal electronic music system or a model for a new building.
How students will learn
Students will have the opportunity to design and make a number of items suitable for identified needs.

Additional Information
Through these principles they will develop designs in response to identified need and produce a suitable outcome that they can evaluate. During the course the students will need to develop their skills at home as well as in school and to this end will need to obtain an A3 folder to carry work in.
