Student Voice
STUDENT VOICE IS CHANGING AT CHILTON TRINITY The school as recently begun massive changes in the way students have their say at Chilton Trinity. There was a worry that students were not seeing their ideas and views about school life having an affect on Chilton Trinity. To combat this the school has asked staff and students to participate in a Student Voice Survey that addresses every aspect of being part of Chilton Trinity. The survey looked at 8 key areas: Litter and recycling, Energy, Life as a Student, Transport, Communication, Inside our School, Outside our school, and Food and drink. Over 600 people took part in the survey that was run by the Heads Leadership Team and Student Leadership Team from Year 11. The interesting results produced were then used as the basis for students to look at changing these key areas. In PSHEE, a group of 38 year 11 students expertly led a lesson called ‘This is our school’ where pupils got a chance to look at the survey results and come up with ideas about how to change Chilton Trinity. Each tutor group produced posters detailing their ideas to help improve their school, which then formed a collage in the school hall. All of these excellent ideas are now to be used to form 5 action teams which students in the New Year will be able to join and start to change the school and make their ideas count! |
