Religious Studies Curriculum Overview
Team Vision
Religious Studies is a unique subject that allows students to explore the nature of humans and our place in this world by asking big questions about life’s purpose. We want all students to feel that their voices can be heard in navigating their own worldview. Our curriculum aims to inspire, challenge, and engage students in becoming ready for modern life in an ever-increasing multi-cultural society.
Curriculum Intent
Our curriculum intent is for students to develop a keen sense of self through opportunities to express, debate and grow their own values and attitudes on current global issues. Our students will be able to express and justify their own opinions and beliefs about religion and religious, philosophical, moral, and spiritual questions through a series of modules designed to evoke such conversations.
Throughout the RS curriculum there are 3 key concepts we believe are essential in developing students’ knowledge and understanding of RS as well as nurturing their ability to become autonomous thinkers. These key concepts are theology, philosophy and ethics. We believe these three concepts not only allow students to experience the full range of what RS can offer regarding academic studies but enable exciting opportunities for students to question the world around them in preparation for life beyond Chilton Trinity.
