The students and staff of Chilton Trinity represented the community very well. Some of the comments like “Students are proud to attend this school” and students “feel safe and have a trusted adult they can talk to about any concerns” show how caring we are and how supportive we have been during the challenging last few years.
I was particularly proud of the positive student voice during the inspection, the “rich personal development programme” we have in place and the “calm and orderly” conduct of our students around the school. It is important to note too that safeguarding practices at our school are exemplary.
I am pleased that our self-evaluation prior to inspection matched the findings of the inspection team, and we have clear areas for improvement that we have already started to address e.g. assessment at KS3, literacy and attendance for all students. We are already working on these through a post-Ofsted action plan and working alongside the Clevedon Learning Trust to establish a clear and exciting direction of travel.
I believe that this inspection has given us a clear focus on aspects to improve and will accelerate the progress we will be making in next few months and years. I am hugely proud of the progress our school has made in the last few difficult years; the next challenge is to ensure our school continues its improvement journey, working in partnership with our parents and carers to impact positively on the lives of the young people in our care.
